Biographies

DrSteve

C Steven Frame, DVM, graduated from University of Missouri‘s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 and has been at Deer-Grove since 1985. He specializes in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and does all the TTAs at Deer-Grove.  A member of the Veterinary Information Network, he believes it’s important to always push yourself to continue learning because there is always a new way to approach old problems.  Dr. Frame is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and the Dane County Veterinary.

DrLyn

Lyn Empey, DVM, graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Her areas of interest are pet nutrition and client education.  Dr. Empey feels that the most rewarding part of her job is sharing a pet’s life from birth through the senior years. “When I am there from the first puppy/kitten visit all the way through the time to say goodbye, and I have had the opportunity to help that pet live a good life, I feel a sense of fulfillment and privilege that I have been able to share such an amazing time.” Outside of work Dr. Empey enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons, one dog (Greco) and one cat (Indy). She is a sports nut, and enjoys keeping tabs of the Packers, Brewers, NASCAR and just about any other sport you want to name.  Dr. Empey is a member of the American Veterinary Association and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association.

DrAmy

Amy Mueller, DVM, graduated from the University of Wisconsin's School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She worked in day practice for 5 years before spending a year practicing emergency veterinary medicine. While she enjoyed her experience as an emergency veterinarian, she found she really missed providing lifelong care for a pet and his/her family. She joined the Deer-Grove team in July 2009. She enjoys both medicine and surgery. Her interests include: pain management, internal medicine, and education for clients, staff, and future veterinarians. She feels the best part of her profession is being involved in fostering the special bond between pets and their owners. Dr. Mueller lives in Lodi with her husband and young son. They share their home with four rescued pets - two dogs and two cats.

Alisa

Alisa Hornung CVT, graduated from MATC in May 2005 and began working at Deer-Grove within two months. She likes assisting with surgery and dentals, and particularly enjoys puppy visits so she can see how much the puppies have changed each time they come in. In her spare time she rides and works with her horse, and helps out on the beef farm where her husband works.

Diana

Diana Nelson is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She graduated from The Madison Area Technical College’s Certified Veterinary Technician Program in 2004. Diana joined the team at Deer-Grove Veterinary Clinic in 2008. She enjoys the variety her profession brings and working with a great team that provides high-quality animal care. Her family includes two cats (Wyatt and Sammi), two adopted rescue dogs, (Pilgrim and Brutus), and her husband, Ken. In Diana’s spare time she enjoys camping, hiking, biking, baking, going to dog parks and spending time with her family. She and her family live in Oconomowoc.

Jenna

Jenna is a Certified Veterinary Technician who graduated from Madison Area Technical College in Madison, WI. Originally from the Prairie du Chien area, she moved to the big city to pursue an education in animal health. She has been with Deer Grove Veterinary Clinics since August 2009 and loving the new position. Outside of the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband, Brice & her cat friend Spidey. She always enjoys a relaxing day of fishing & spending time with family. She looks forward to getting to know all the clients & pet friends at Deer Grove Veterinary Clinic!

DrAmy

Logan Miller, C.V.T., graduated from Madison Area Technical College in May of 2007. He has been with Deer-Grove Veterinary Clinic since September of 2009 and very much likes the exposure that working in a busy companion animal clinic brings. From performing dental exams and cleanings, to assisting with specialty surgeries, Logan is enjoying providing excellent animal care with many fun and enthusiastic people who feel the same way towards animal health. He previously worked for the Department of
Natural Resources in the Fish and Wildlife Health Labs, where he appreciated another aspect of animal care, but is very glad to be back in a clinic helping out companion animals.

Kristin

Kristin has been working as a veterinary assistant at Deer-Grove Veterinary since May 2008. She began working in veterinary clinics since 1999 where she began as a kennel worker and moved her way up to veterinary assistant. Kristin took some time away from the clinic to attend UW-Platteville where she received a Bachelor’s degree in biology. Her favorite part of her job is working with animals and seeing new things every day. Born and raised in Janesville, WI, Kristin now lives in Sun Prairie with her husband Rob, and English pointer Jackson.

Brooke

Brooke joined the Deer-Grove Veterinary Clinic team May 2009. She brings 10 years of experience in the pet industry. She enjoys meeting new pets and their families, and also spending quality time with the senior patients. On her free-time, Brooke likes to go hiking with her Springer Spaniel, Georgie, also activities such as gardening and snowboarding.

Aime

Amie, the lead receptionist, has been at Deer-Grove since November 2004. She has always loved animals, which is partially why she loves working at Deer-Grove. She has a dog named Kasey, an adorable bichon/poodle/cocker mix, and a cat named Josie. She lives in Sun Prairie with her husband Doug and their beautiful daughter, Hanna.

Stacy

Stacey has been a receptionist at Deer-Grove Veterinary Clinic since October of 2003. She lives on a farm north of Sun Prairie with her husband, Greg. She owns a horse and two dogs. She likes spending time with her animals, and doing agility training with her Vizsla, Remmie.

Krista

Krista has been a receptionist with us since August 2009. She grew up on a farm in Lake Mills. She owns two horses, a dog Muggsy and two cats Boomer and Tucker. During her free time she enjoys being with family and friends as well as anything that keeps her outside. She is looking forward to becoming an Aunt in fall 2010 and getting married in spring 2011.

DrAmy

Ashlee Endres started at the clinic as a receptionist in March. She moved to Wisconsin from Florida in June of 2009 to be closer to her twin sister. She left her yorkie, Bitzee, in Florida with her mom and little sister. She can’t wait for Bitzee to have puppies so she can have one of her own.

DrAmy

Dalton Schreiber, MBA, joined Deer-Grove Vet Clinic as practice manager after many years working in large scale manufacturing and fabrication facilities. Prior to his manufacturing experiences, Dalton retired from the USAF after a career as a Security Specialist. When the Practice Manager position became available, Dalton knew it would be the perfect opportunity for him to shift career focus, while working in a setting that would allow him plenty of kitty and puppy interaction. Dalton lives in Deerfield with his wife Mary and 2 cats, Jack and Betty. He is looking forward to meeting all of the business associates, clients and their pet friends that come into the Clinic.
